Could You Go One Day in New Hampshire Without a Jeanne Shaheen-supported Tax?
Posted October 5th, 2008 by LamontIt’s a simple question, really. But the answer is unfortunate. For New Hampshire families, the Jeanne Shaheen taxes are everywhere you look:
Jeanne Shaheen suggested an increase in gas taxes and was caught unconstitutionally diverting gas tax revenues to a pet project. In fact, she wanted the state to look at raising the gas tax. (Union Leader, 1/26/95)
After promising to veto any broad-based sales tax, she broke her promise and proposed the first-ever sales tax in New Hampshire history. (Union Leader, 2/7/01)
Again, she broke her promise and signed New Hampshire’s first statewide property tax into law – even saying “today we’re going to celebrate.” (Associated Press, 4/30/99)
Take a closer look at Obama
Posted October 5th, 2008 by NHFactsTo the Editor of the Keene Sentinel:
Your hatchet job editorial on Sarah Palin (Sept. 7) produced an answer: the only letter in weeks that did not trash every conservative or independent in New Hampshire.
Do some investigative reporting on the following questions:
1. So Palin’s daughter is pregnant. How far back do you have to go in Obama’s or his wife’s genealogy to find anyone pregnant before marriage — or even having children without marriage certificates?
2. Why didn’t Barack Hussein Obama produce his birth certificate at once? Was he really born in the U.S.A? Who says we can’t use his middle name every pregnant time?
3. How many full tuitions did Obama or his wife pay for their Ivy League educations, or did we, the taxpayers, do that, too?
JENNIFER HORN LAUNCHES TV AD “POCKETS”
Posted October 3rd, 2008 by Jennifer HornNASHUA – Jennifer Horn, Republican candidate for Congress, launched her first TV ad of the general election, titled “Pockets.” The ad began running on October 3, 2008.
Jennifer Horn: “It was on Paul Hodes watch and under his party’s leadership that we got into this economic mess. This Congress turned a blind eye to this impending economic crisis for two years. Paul Hodes and the Financial Services Committee have failed to provide any oversight and protection to the American people and their money, instead taking campaign handouts from the special interests regulated by his committee. The best way to fix our economy is to fire Paul Hodes.”
The text of the ad is as follows:
JENNIFER HORN:
Washington isn’t working for any of us.
Grant Bosse - My Kind of Candidate
Posted September 8th, 2008 by NHFactsGrant Bosse is my kind of candidate
I find it refreshing when a candidate answers questions directly. Grant Bosse does this – he clearly, succinctly and consistently communicates his positions every chance he gets.
Dawn Lincoln – Candidate for State Rep for Gilsum, Surry and Westmoreland
Posted September 3rd, 2008 by NHFactsAs the Primary Election is rapidly approaching, I wanted to take a moment to ask for your vote on Tuesday, September 9th. In my district there are contested primary races for State Rep, Register of Probate (Castor, Shields), U.S Congress (Bosse, Clegg, Horn, Steiner) and U.S. Senate (Sununu, Alciere). Every vote counts – make time to get down to your polling location and let your voice be heard.
The major issues I will support if elected are:
Register of Probate in Cheshire County: Candidates' Questionaire
Posted September 2nd, 2008 by NHFactsAs you know, we created and host the nhfacts.com blog to provide information and insight into political and governmental issues related to Cheshire County and southwestern New Hampshire. Two local residents are running for the Republican endorsement for Register of Probate in Cheshire County: Susan Castor and Donna Shields.
On August 24, 2008, we asked both candidates to respond to the two questions below.
According to the Cheshire County website:
"The work of the Probate Court centers on protecting individual rights, particularly for some of the state's most vulnerable citizens: children, the elderly, and mentally and physically disabled youth and adults. The Probate Court resolves issues involving families as well as property."
Response to Ms Delanoy
Posted August 30th, 2008 by NHFactsSubmitted to the Keene Sentinel:
I must say I feel honored that the good professor, Ms Delanoy, chose to reply to my letter.
I couldn't but notice that Ms Delanoy, or any other FOM [Friend of Molly] for that matter,
has not even mentioned let alone refute the central point of my letter.
Once again, I ask why did Kelly vote to cut $ 1.5 million from her home town school
district here in Keene and try to hide the fact by delaying it until after the elections?
Nor did they bother to address the question of what happens to states when they
buy into the pie-in-the-sky promises of tax shifting.
My question would be why on earth in a year the voters in Keene indicated that
they want to build a new middle school in Keene would anyone vote to cut funds?

Public Campaigning - Principles or Cash?
Posted August 26th, 2008 by NHFactsTo the [Keene Sentinel] Editor:
It's very interesting that campaign fundraising has become such a big
deal. It's even more interesting that the media link the amount of
campaign money to the candidate's likelihood of success in the
election. Does raising, or personally having, a lot of money ensure
that a candidate will make a good elected official? On the contrary,
might it rather be that an intense relationship with lots of campaign
money evolves into an attitude of spending more and more of our money
on more and more expensive and unnecessary government programs?
Instead of being impressed by how much candidates are raising and
spending, voters should look for candidates who exercise fiscal
restraint in their campaigns, as a good indicator of their "respect"
Jackie Mason Endorses Jennifer Horn

Letter to the Editor by Jerry L. Sickles: Sorry Molly, No Sales Tax, No Income Tax
Posted August 14th, 2008 by Marilyn HustonTo the Keene Sentinel:
Greg Martin’s (Molly Kelly’s fiscal agent) letter on Aug. 8 was interesting on several levels, more interesting still for what it did not say.
As it was, Martin’s letter, which was edited for length, was nearly over before he made his point.
At no time did Martin refute the truth of Kelly’s vote to shortchange Keene’s school district by $1.5 million and then hide it from the voters by delaying the cuts for two years.
Such a cut to your hometown’s school district is curious to say the least.
It appears, however Kelly may have started out, it didn’t take her long to become just another typical politician.

Horn in the 2nd: A new Republican voice
There are several strong candidates running for the Republican nomination for Congress in New Hampshire's 2nd District. The strongest of the lot is Nashua's Jennifer Horn. We cannot recall a novice candidate so clearly ready to step into the job of representing New Hampshire in Congress.
Moving America Forward
Posted August 7th, 2008 by Jennifer HornCongress has failed the American people by failing to address the critical issues of the day. Personal gain and political gamesmanship have replaced public service as motivation for serving in public office. With fuel prices continuing to skyrocket, people losing their homes and their jobs, and corrupt career politicians, it’s easy to see why Congress has an approval rating of 9%. The partisan gridlock of our elected representatives threatens the very freedoms our Founding Fathers fought to protect. Abraham Lincoln chose his words carefully when he spoke of a “government of the people. . .by the people. . .for the people.” Serving in Congress is about representing the people over special interests and partisanship.
Shaheen Has No Idea What She Is Talking About When Discussing Energy
Posted August 6th, 2008 by NHFactsIn case you missed it, Shaheen "Has No Idea What She Is Talking About When Discussing Energy"
"When it comes to reducing the price of oil, U.S. Senate candidate Jeanne Shaheen simply has no idea what she is talking about. The last few weeks have perfectly illustrated this fact.
"On July 23, Shaheen released her five-point plan to 'lower gas prices.' Her first point is: 'Close the Enron loophole. The Enron loophole allows billion-dollar traders to evade speculation limits and manipulate oil markets anonymously, artificially driving up prices in an attempt to make huge profits.'
"Her second point is: 'Close the London-Dubai loophole.' She claims that speculators have used markets in London and Dubai to bid up the price of oil.
Molly Kelly can’t have both
Posted August 5th, 2008 by NHFactsI was for it before I was against it.
Why are so many people disappointed with Molly Kelly? Her recent attempts to defend her vote to cut state education aid to the communities in Cheshire County is little more than partisan smoke and mirrors. Kelly needs to make tough choices and stand behind them. Sadly, Kelly made bad choices and tries to cover them up. The voters of Cheshire County deserve better than that.
JEANNE SHAHEEN'S DUCK OF THE DAY: ANOTHER ONE!
Posted July 24th, 2008 by NHFactsSHAHEEN'S DUCK OF THE DAY: CARD CHECK LEGISLATION
CONCORD – In another attempt to avoid taking a policy position, Jeanne Shaheen is ducking questions about legislation that would deny workers the right to a secret ballot vote on union representation. The bill also exposes workers to intimidation, coercion and retaliation from union organizers.
The Union Leader reports that Shaheen has refused to offer a position on the legislation despite requests for comment. While she has declined to discuss her stance, the big unions and special interests groups which have contributed tens of thousands of dollars to her campaign, are spearheading efforts to pass the card check bill.
Mr. John Sununu Goes to Washington: The political philosophy of an actual politician
Posted July 20th, 2008 by NHFactsP.J. O'Rourke writes in the Weekly Standard.
American political methodology is an ontological construct. No, I don't know what I'm talking about, but it's true anyway. Political "science"--like that puppy from the same litter, the dismal science of economics--is not science; it's a branch of moral philosophy. Yet try talking moral philosophy with a politician. Politicians will talk strategy and tactics and policies and programs until they're blue in the face, or you strangle them and they turn blue.
News From Joe Kenney
